This website has advice submitted directly from teachers working in exceptional education classrooms. Teachers share advice on a variety of things including, classroom setup, lesson planning, curriculum modifications, classroom management strategies and more. It is especially useful for new teachers.

DO 2 LEARN
This website has great information and resources for elementary teachers in exceptional education. It has a teacher toolbox with tips on classroom setup, classroom management, learning strategies, etc. It also has several free resources, such as printable picture cards to make storyboards and fun educational games.

Autism 4 Teachers
This website has a lot of helpful links to information and materials to teach students with autism. It has a lot of pictures so that you can get a visual of what they are explaining to you. I love all of the examples!!!

Starfall
This is an easy to use website that has fun activities and games to help teach reading skills. It covers areas in reading such as phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Starfall is not exclusively designed for use in Exceptional Education classrooms, but is a great tool for use in all elementary classrooms. I think Starfall would be particularly helpful for ELL students because of the interactive games using sound and visual cues.

Council for Exceptional Children Teaching and Learning Center
This website provides a comprehensive resource for educators working with children who have disabilities. It provides information about various exceptionalities teachers will be dealing with in the classroom, teaching strategies, assessment issues, diversity, behavior management, evidence-based practices, and current special education topics.

LDA Information for Teachers
This website gives a lot of useful information about learning disabilities and ADHD. It provides resources and detailed information about the signs and symptoms of learning disabilities and ADHD that all teachers should recognize. It also provides strategies for dealing with each specific learning disability and ADHD in the classroom.

Literacy Center Education Network
This site is maintined by The Literacy Center Education Network. It offers free, professionally-designed, education materieals and simple activities geared for Pre-K and Kindergarten age students. It offers math and language art activities in four different languages (English, Spanish, Dutch, and French).

TeacherVision
This site has many resources for teachers such as lesson plans, graphic organizers, customizable printables, and tips and strategies for behavior management in the classroom. Many of the resources are free, but some require a subscription.

Lexicon of Learning Dictionary
I am always looking up the meaning of terms and phrases used in the field of education and this website has them all! If you haven't quite mastered your "alphabet soup" this website will help you. It is an online dictionary provided by ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) with the terminology frequently used in the field of education. It is beneficial for any educator to understand key terms and concepts.
